TacRifle is a multi stage competition with a mix of movement, standard drills and moving targets. Ranges vary from about 7 to 100 yards. Shooters can expect to shoot from standing, kneeling and prone positions.

The match fee is $20. Lunch will probably be available for a few extra dollars, usually $5 or so.  Registration begins at 8:45 am .

Shooting will start shortly afterwards, hopefully by 9:15

Here is what you need to bring:

  • Reliable semi-auto centerfire rifle capable of engaging targets from 3-100 yards. If you don’t have one and want to come out and shoot, let us know and we can see about scrounging up some loaners.
  • Minimum 100 rounds of ammunition. Bring extra just in case. Sighting in BEFORE arriving at the match is recommended as it will not be allowed the day of the match.
  • Minimum 5 x 5-round magazines or stripper clips. Stages will not be designed with round counts higher than that, but spares are handy in case of malfunction.
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Slings required.
  • Pouches or pockets for spare magazines
  • Raingear. We shoot rain or shine. During warm months sunscreen and bug juice is useful to bring.
  • If you have allergies (bee stings, for ex) prepare accordingly.
  • Sturdy shoes
  • Knee pads, depending on the condition of your joints
  • Ball point pen
